Intermediate student jumps in front of train in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Three Intermediate students committed suicide in Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Nagar Kurnool on Sunday after the exam results came out.
While a 17-year-old student jumped in front of a moving train at the railway tracks near Sanathnagar, another student hanged himself at his home in Nalgonda. The third student jumped into a lake in her village in Nagar Kurnool district.
Manish Goud, 17, a First Year Intermediate student, and a resident of Subhashnagar, went missing from home after his results came out.
“He had failed and his parents had got to know. He went out without telling anybody,” said a police official.
Later, his body was found on the railway track near Sanathnagar Railway Station. Police thinks that he jumped in front of a train.
In the second incident, Karthik, 16, hanged himself at his house in Hill Colony near Nagarjuna-sagar.
Karthik, who was a first year student of BPC, was troubled by his marks, police said.
In the third case, a 17-year-old girl ran away from home and jumped into a lake in her village. Jayasheela, a resident of Gudipally village in Nagar Kurnool district, was a second year student of BPC.
Police said she had gone missing from home soon after the results came in.
Later her family found her body in the lake.
Intermediate Public Exams-2017 results were released by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and education minister Kadiyam Srihari on Sunday.
The pass percentage in the second year for general and vocational courses was 67 per cent (up by three per cent from previous year) and in the first year it was 57 per cent (up by six per cent).
