Hyderabad: A pseudo Naxalite who tried blackmailing a businessman under the Nacharam police station limits was arrested by the Rachakonda police on Saturday.
The victim Dayakar Reddy received an anonymous call last Sunday. The unknown person, impersonating himself as Naxalite Sudhakar Anna, demanded Rs 20 lakh from Mr Reddy and threatened to kill him if he failed to deliver.
The victim filed a complaint. When the accused, Bhukya Krishna Naik, a scrap dealer, found out, he damaged the sim card through which he called the victim. The SOT traced the location using the call data.
