Hyderabad: A 17-year-old boy from Alwal who had impregnated his 16-year-old collegemate was on Thursday produced before the Juvenile Justice board. Police said he has been shifted to a correctional home in the city.
Police took action after a report in DC revealed how the boy was finally booked after the girl delivered a child in February. The college student was booked for rape and faces charges under the POSCO Act. He was detained on Thursday and produced before the court by officials.
The teenage mother, also an intermediate student and from the same college in the city as the boy, is believed to have entered into a physical relationship with the accused sometime last year.
Officials claimed the girl was not aware that she was pregnant until she delivered a baby girl in February at Gandhi hospital.
