Hyderabad: 8 arrested for buying land, refusing to repay

Polichetty then started postponing the payments and started threatening Narasimhulu and his wife, the ACP said.

Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police arrested eight men for threatening a real estate agent using a double barrelled (DBBL) gun.

The arrested were identified as Kolaparthi Polichetty, 43, Chamarthi Sunil Kumar, 43, Dasari Yogyasri Balakrishna, 38, Cheguri Narsimha, 39, Hari Chandra Mani Tripathi, 48, Md Mukhtar, 23, Yousuf Khan, 27, and Bupalla Ramakrishnan, 30, police said, adding that one Vasu was reportedly absconding.

According to K. Shiva Kumar, ACP Kushaiguda, Polichetty, a real estate businessman, approached S. Ram Narasimhulu, 59, to buy 54 plots from him registered under Ram’s wife’s name.

“The parties entered into an agreement and Polichetty paid 25 per cent of the rate and gave Narasimhulu a cheque for Rs 1 crore, with an agreement that he would pay remaining in two installments, one on December 27, 2018 and another on February 27. Polichetty then started postponing the payments and started threatening Narasimhulu and his wife,” the ACP said.

On Friday, the nine men arrived in an SUV wielding a DBBL gun and threatened the selling party, with an intention to grab the land without paying the remaining amount. Following this, Narasimhulu registered a complaint with the Neredmet Police, who in turn arrested Polichetty and seven others.
