Women held for offences on Secunderabad station
Hyderabad: Secunderabad Railway Police on Friday nabbed two women involved in two different cases and recovered from their possession gold jewellery and ganja. They were identified as Ryalamadugu Swaroopa, 30, and Baina Lakshmi, 55.
SP G. Ashok Kumar said that Swaroopa was apprehended on Friday when she was moving suspiciously at the railway station. Nine tola of gold worth around Rs 2.7 lakh were recovered from her," he said.
In another case, on verifying another woman’s luggage, cops found that she was carrying a trolley luggage and had ganja packed in it.
"She confessed that she had brought the contraband from Vizag to deliver in Mumbai. Ten packets of ganja weighing 32 kg and worth around Rs 4.8 lakh were seized from her," said the SP. Both the women were arrested and sent in judicial remand.
