Faisal murder case: Identification parade held

Six witnesses of the case were also brought to the court to identify the accused.

MALAPPURAM: RSS Pracharak Madathil Narayanan, the prime accused in the murder case of neo-Muslim convert Pullani Faisal, and co-accused K.K. Bibin, were produced before the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court in Tirur on Thursday for an identification parade as part of the Crime Branch probe into the incident. Six witnesses of the case were also brought to the court to identify the accused.

The police has also sought the custody of the two accused for collecting evidence from the spot where Faisal was hacked to death in November last year.
According to the investigating team, Narayanan, who was arrested last week, had visited the place thrice prior to the execution of the murder plot. Both Narayanan and Bibin would be brought to Kodinhi for collecting evidence soon after getting them in police custody, said CB DySP C.K. Babu, who heads the probe.

Fifteen RSS-VHP workers have been arrested in connection with the case so far. Of them 11 were granted conditional bail last week by the District Sessions Court, Manjeri. The accused Bibin who was part of the four- member team who killed Faisal had admitted to the police that he stabbed the victim on the abdomen with a chopper. Narayanan had been convicted by the High Court in 2009 for a similar murder case in Tirur in 1998. However, the Supreme Court acquitted him in July 2016.
