Alappuzha: Three people including a probationary sub-inspector were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old girl. The accused K.G. Lyju, 38, an officer with Mararikulam police station, Jinumon, 22 and Prince 28, a friend and relative of the victim, were arrested by the special investigation team led by Alappuzha Dy.SP P.V Baby.
Earlier on Monday, Nelson Thomas, 40, a CPO attached to the narcotic cell was arrested in connection with the case. Mr Baby said all three accused were charged under POCSO Act. The SI was remanded while the two were being interrogated. A detailed probe is on and more arrests are likely’, Dy.SP said.
