16-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Threatened Over Video; Police Register POCSO Case
A 17-year-old boy was apprehended in Hoshiarpur for allegedly sexually assaulting his 16-year-old classmate and circulating a video of the incident, police said.
A 17-year-old boy was apprehended for allegedly raping his classmate and circulating the video of the incident here, police said on Friday. According to police, the 16-year-old girl was allegedly taken to a restaurant cabin on July 4, on the pretext of going out before she went to school, where the accused allegedly raped her and recorded a video.
The accused was apprehended on Thursday. The police said the girl later informed her family that the accused had allegedly threatened to circulate the video and circulated it a few days later.
Dasuya police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police said. Further investigation is underway, she said.
