Bengaluru: Cyclone Gaja to bring rains to city

The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city is likely to be 29 and 18 degrees Celsius respectively.

Bengaluru: The city and some parts of the state will receive light to moderate rains for the next three days due to cyclone Gaja.

South interior regions of the state will receive rains from Thursday. The IMD has forecast that on Saturday there will be rain or thundershowers.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city is likely to be 29 and 18 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to the IMD department Gaja had formed over southwest Bay of Bengal and moved further west southwestwards and intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. It is currently centered over south west Bay of Bengal, about 320 km east-southeast of Chennai and 300 km east-northeast of Nagapattinam (Tamil Nadu). "It is very likely to move west-southwestwards and cross Tamil Nadu coast between Pamban and Cuddalore around Nagapattinam late Thursday. The wind speed in these areas is likely to around 80-100 kilometres per hour,” IMD officials said.
