Hyderabad: Couple kissing video goes viral

Hyderabad: Police are examining a viral video that purports to show a couple kissing on the sunroof of a car as it speeds on the PVNR Expressway. The video was shot at night, reportedly on Saturday. The romance show on the vehicle (TS09 GA 2084) distracted other motorists and put the couple at risk of injury. A netizen posted the video on social media and asked if the police would take action.

Engineering student dies by suicide at hostel:

Hyderabad: A 24-year-old engineer died by suicide at a hostel in Himayatnagar, Domalaguda police said on Sunday. Police said the victim, T. Sairam, had recently completed his BTech. His hostelmates noticed him struggling and rushed him to a private hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment on Sunday morning. Police said Sairam, a native of Jagtial district, had recently joined a software course at the insistence of his parents. He wanted to work and was not interested in the course, police said. Domalguda police registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem.

Pravallika: Chikkadpally SHO suspended

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner Sandeep Shandilya on Sunday placed Chikkadpally station house officer P. Naresh under suspension for reportedly not handling the situation following the suicide of 23-year-old government job aspirant M. Pravallika two days ago. After the news of the suicide broke, job aspirants from nearby hostels and training institutes in the neighbourhood gathered outside Pravallika’s hostel in thousands and staged a protest. They also prevented the police from shifting her body from the hostel to the Gandhi Hospital. Two police personnel were injured in the melee. The police chief took serious note of the SHO being unable to control the situation which resulted in chaos, and took action.

Armed Reserve constable suspended for cheating woman:

Nizamabad: Nizamabad police commissioner Kalmeshwar Shingenwar on Sunday suspended Armed Reserve constable K. Nataraj for allegedly cheating and raping a woman. Natraj, a resident of Velpur, had an affair with his childhood friend’s wife and forced her to separate from her husband. However, he refused to marry the victim despite promising to do so. The victim went to Natraj’s parents to complain but they reportedly assaulted her. The victim then complained to the Armoor police. A departmental inquiry was ordered and upon securing the report Shingenwar, suspended Natraj. The constable was sent to judicial remand.
