Vijayawada: An infant baby boy went missing from Government General Hospital (GGH) at Guntur. However, police rescued the baby within hours.

According to reports, Priyanka, a native of Pedda Kakani, got admitted to GGH for delivery on October 12 on second floor of the labour ward. She gave birth to an infant baby boy. As the infant was constantly crying, the baby’s grandmother took the infant with her and slept outside the room. After some time, mother Priyanka and father Mahesh came there but found the infant missing. They immediately informed hospital authorities and police.

GGH officials led by superintendent Dr. Prabhavathi checked their CCTV footage. They found a person moving away with a bag in hand from the ward along with a woman. They passed on the footage to Kothapet police, who sounded an alert. The kidnapper duo – Revula Hemavarnudu and Revula Padma from Yanamadala village of Prathipadu mandal, were traced to a home in Guntur city. The infant has been restored to his parents.

Kothapeta CI Srinivasulu Reddy said they have registered a case against the abductors.
