Hyderabad: Depressed man dies after immolating self
Hyderabad: Psychological depression reportedly forced a bus driver to end his life at Jawaharnagar during the early hours of Monday.
He was under medication for the last four years, said Jawaharnagar police.
Jawaharnagar sub-inspector S. Saidulu said that a mini bus driver Manchala Ramesh, 37, and resident of Shivaji Nagar was suffering from a mental illness for the last four years. He believed that somebody had done black magic against him.
“Ramesh was undergoing treatment and was under medication. For at least three months, he was normal,” said the SI.
“Again from September this year, he complained to his family members that somebody was doing black magic against him and was trying to kill him,” the SI added.
On Sunday, Ramesh purchased petrol and at around 5 am on Monday, he went to Chennapur lake and set himself ablaze with the petrol. Locals noticed his body near the lake and intimated police.
A case of suspicious death has been registered and the body was handed over to his family members, said SI Saidulu.
