Hyderabad: 16-year-old rescued from brothel, 2 held
Hyderabad: A 16-year-old girl was rescued from a brothel and two traffickers were arrested by the Rachakonda Special Operations Team on Monday.
According to SOT police, accused Kamsani Hanumanthu, 41, and Kamsani Rajesh, 32, of Yadagirigutta were arrested from a house on credible information that they were trafficked a minor girl, 16. The accused gave Rs 50,000 to one Kamsani Kumari and bought the girl from her possession to run a brothel.
So far, 35 victims of trafficking have been rescued from Yadagigutta and 33 persons have been arrested. The rescued victim has been shifted to a shelter home for care and protection.
Meanwhile, 21 houses used to run brothels have been seized, said the police adding that Rajesh and Hanumanthu have been booked under relevant Sections of IPC, POCSO Act and Juvenile Justice Act, and remanded to judicial custody, said the police.
