I was attacked by 50 men: Woman Techie
Bengaluru: A woman software engineer was allegedly attacked by a gang of over 50 men after she allegedly complained to the police about illegal cattle slaughtering.
However, the police rubbished her allegation and said the incident happened after the woman’s vehicle rammed into a shop.
The alleged incident reportedly took place at Avalahalli in Thalaghattapura police station limits on Saturday evening. The complainant has been identified as Nandini.
According to the police, Nandini, also an animal rights activist, had filed a complaint that cattle were illegally slaughtered at slaughter house near Tipu Circle. Based on the complaint, we rescued three cattle that were tied near the slaughter house, around 8 pm. Around 8.30 pm, the complainant went to check whether the cattle were rescued.
It is alleged that when she went there to check, more than 50 men allegedly attacked her for complaining to the police. They also vandalised her SUV. However, the police said that the woman had rammed her SUV to a shop and that led to an altercation with local residents. “Some of them pelted stones at her vehicle and she sustained minor injuries ,” the police maintained.
The woman has filed another complaint in this regard and the police are yet to arrest the accused.
