HYDERABAD: Telangana-Narcotics Bureau (TS-NAB), which claimed to have found evidence that Tollywood actor Navdeep was also taking drugs, have intensified their search to trace him. Even as he claimed that he was not named by the police, bureau officials said that they had concrete evidence to nail him and they would proceed legally.
Inquiries revealed that Navdeep, who had on Thursday evening posted on X, that he was available, remained elusive. "That's not me gentlemen I'm right here .. pls clarify thanks (sic)" he wrote on X.
However, officials said that his mobile phones had been switched off and he could not be reached for serving notices. Although he has gone incommunicado, he remains in the city, they confirmed.
Meanwhile, Surya, owner of Snort Pub at Madhapur, and Arjun, owner of Terra Cafe & Bristo pubs at Jubilee Hills, who allowed drug parties in their premises, were organising exclusive parties for different groups of consumers, officials have found.
Based on the availability of the drug, they would communicate to specific groups and parties were arranged, accordingly, they said.
The police are also in the process of invoking Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act (Safema), 1976, on the pubs. The Act empowers law enforcement agencies to forfeit illegally acquired properties of smugglers and foreign exchange manipulators.
