KAKINADA: A father beat up his three children indiscriminately in a drunken state and also took their videos. The father, Ganji David Raju, a resident of SC Colony in Pentapadu of West Godavari district, sent these videos to his wife Nirmala, who is working in Dubai. His intention is to force his wife to return to India.
However, the videos went viral on social media on Thursday following which Tadepalligudem Rural circle inspector M.V.S. Murthy and Pentapadu sub-inspector Y. Satyanarayana rushed to the SC Colony and rescued the children – two girls and a boy. David Raju is absconding.
SI Satyanarayana said Nirmala had been unable to return home due to the conditions of her job. While her son is studying in Class VII, daughters are in Class VI and V.
Pentapadu police registered a case and handed over the children to their grandmother.
Child protection officer Surya Chakraveni said the children will be brought to Bala Sadan and kept in the Child Protection Cell for their safety.
