Khammam: A four-year-old girl sustained injuries in her private parts at an anganwadi centre located in Sivalayam Street, Madhira on Friday. The girl’s mother alleged that the ayah in the anganwadi centre had caused the injury while washing the girl after she relieved herself.
Upon the girl complaining of pain, the mother took her to a local community health centre for treatment where Dr Srinivas found an injury.
The mother said, “She said that the ayah rubbed the parts in a rough manner. I demand action against the ayah Udayamma.”
Child development project officer Sarada said, “The doctor told me there was an injury in the girl’s private parts and he asked us to take her to Khammam district headquarters hospital where a gynaecologist can give a proper report. However, the mother is not showing interest in going to Khammam.”
The victim’s father, who is unwell, is confined to his house.
Integrated Child Protection Service officials and Child Rights Committees of Khammam are trying to bring the girl to Khammam hospital with police protection after convincing her mother.
