Chennai: Two school teachers robbed of gold chains
Chennai: Two school teachers were robbed of their gold chains in separate incidents near Ambattur on Thursday. In one of the incidents near Kallikuppam, P. Karpagaselvi (45), a teacher at a private school in Surapet, was walking towards her home in Om Shakti Nagar when she was robbed, police said.
Two men on a motorbike trailed the teacher and intercepted her when she was walking on a service road. They then escaped with her six sovereign gold chain. In another incident, V. Lingeshwari (50), a teacher at a Government school in Arakkonam, was walking from Ambattur railway station to her home in Thiruvengadam Nagar when she was robbed. Around 7 pm, when she was walking along the 2ndstreet in Thiruvengadam Nagar, an unidentified person on a motorbike flagged her and escaped with her six sovereign gold chain. Ambattur police are investigating.
