Hyderabad school HM suspended for attack on teacher

Headmaster P. Krishna Rao pushed mathematics teacher K. Srinivasa Rao in the presence of students and other teachers.

Khammam: The state government on Thursday suspended the headmaster of a high school at Jalagamnagar in Khammam Rural mandal, for inappropriate behaviour.

Headmaster P. Krishna Rao pushed mathematics teacher K. Srinivasa Rao in the presence of students and other teachers. Srinivasa Rao lodged a complaint at the police station where the incident took place.

It was alleged that Mr Krishna Rao, working as headmaster at the school for three years, used to harass the mathematics teacher without any reason.
Srinivasa Rao had complained to the district educational officer about this on July 15.

Deputy DEO P. Basava Rao was asked to investigate and submit a report. The official tried to solve the problem by discussing the matter with the two teachers, but the differences between the two grew.

It was reported that Mr Krishna Rao pushed Srinivasa Rao while he was signing in the register on Wednesday. Both individuals exchanged abusive words in the presence of students and teachers.

Later, Mr Srinivasa Rao lodged a complaint at the police station. The station house officer called the headmaster to get the details of the clash, and Mr Krishna Rao hit Mr Srinivasa Rao in front of the cops.

Teacher unions intervened in the matter and demanded that the government take action against the headmaster. It was reported that the same headmaster had clashed with English teacher N. Rama Rao in 2013-14.

Senior officials of the education department had intervened then and settled the case. The government took the latest issue seriously and has asked Mr Basava Rao to submit a report immediately. Based on the report, the government suspended the headmaster.
