Don't create more Govindachamys: Soumya's mother G Sumathi

Palakkad: Soumya’s mother G. Sumathi expressed shock over the Supreme Court verdict acquitting Govidachamy from the murder charge on Thursday. “A life imprisonment for rape is not enough for committing such a heinous crime,” she said. Sumathi said the court order was heartbreaking and blamed Mr Thomas P. Joseph, senior standing counsel in the Supreme Court, for goofing up the case. “The lack of preparation on the part of the standing counsel has led to such a setback. Such a lackadaisical way of dealing with serious cases and such a court order will create several Govidachamies in future,” she said.
