Hyderabad: Sudanese stabbed to death by friend

Not respecting friend's privacy was the reason for murder.

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old Sudanese national, who was here on an education visa, was allegedly stabbed to death on the night of August 14 by another Sudanese national, after a quarrel over disturbing the latter’s privacy at his home.

The victim, Abdul Basheer alias Rashes, died after being stabbed allegedly by Abdul Afroz at P & T Colony in Rajendranagar.

Rajendranagar police said that Rashes was staying with some of his compatriots in Rajendranagar till August 10, but was asked to leave the room after his strange behaviour and regular fights with roommates and other locals.

Rashes and Afroz were allegedly drug users, police said.

On August 11, Rashes moved to Abdul Afroz’s apartment at P & T Colony in Sun City. Afroz was staying with his girlfriend Lissa and gave him a room to stay. Afroz came to India on an education visa while Lissa, hailing from the North-East, has a job.

Rajendranagar inspector G. Suresh said that Rashes, Afroz and Lissa had dinner together at the flat on August 14. After that Rashesh who was in an inebriated state, reportedly troubled Lissa, when she and Afroz were having a private moment in the flat.

Enraged Afroz beat Rashes with a bucket after which there was a scuffle. Then, Afroz took a kitchen knife and allegedly stabbed Rashes in the chest.

“The stabbing was so deep that Rashes was bleeding out. They were quarreling as they came out on to the road and some teenagers in the locality saw it. They alerted the police and also called for an ambulance, but Rashes suddenly collapsed and died,” said inspector Suresh.

The knife used to commit the offence, some sachets of ganja, a few injections and vials were recovered by the police from Afroz’s room.

Inspector Suresh said that Afroz had a valid passport and visa, while further details about the deceased are yet to be identified.

The body had been sent for postmortem to the Osmania General Hospital morgue, he said.
