Hyderabad: Woman ends life, blames her ex, while dad blames husband, in-laws
Hyderabad: A newly-wed woman from Meerpet committed suicide by hanging on Wednesday morning. The victim left a note mentioning that her ex-boyfriend harassed her and spoiled her life. Her parents however allege that the woman’s husband and in-laws also harassed her.
V. Amani, 24, of Jagityal came to the city after completing her graduation two years ago. She met one Rakesh when she joined a private college to pursue her MBA. But Rakesh dominanted her and took Amani’s debit card and used the money her parents sent for college fee and expenses.
Amani could not share it with her parents and wanted to end her life. Meanwhile, she came in contact with one Ramnivas of Vijayanagar Colony in Meerpet. They fell in love and got married one-and-a-half-months back in an Arya Samaj.
Meerpet inspector A. Manmohan said, “The woman was depressed with her past and married Ramnivas without informing her parents. The couple were happy, but she ended her life when her husband and in-laws were sleeping on Wednesday.”
Responding to a query, the inspector said, “Amani reportedly left a note that said Rakesh had ruined her life and she is very happy with her husband now. Rakesh used to take all her money and give her Rs 4,000 every month for her expenses. She could not complete her education due to this.” The girl’s father Venkateshwarlu, stated that Ramnivas, his parents and Rakesh were responsible for his daughter’s death. A case of abetment to suicide has been registered. Ramnivas and his in-laws are being questioned, while a search is on to trace Rakesh.
