Bengaluru: Woman robbed in Indiranagar

Bengaluru: A 59-year-old special educator was robbed of Rs 5,000 in cash along with debit cards and other valuables last Monday after two people diverted her attention and made away with the bag.

The incident happened on 80 Feet Road in Indiranagar. The complainant, Purnima Rao, teaches children with special needs.

In her plaint to the police, Rao stated that on Monday, she had parked her car near a cosmetics outlet on the 80 Feet Road and gone inside. After she returned ten minutes later, a man showed her a few ten rupees currency notes lying in front of her car. He told her it must be hers and she went to pick them up. But when she turned around, she found the two men weren’t there. When she sat inside her car, she found her bag was missing. She told the police that she suspected the men were following her. Rao told this newspaper that she immediately informed Robert, the manager of the Health and Glow outlet, who immediately went out in search of the two men in his bike, but to no avail.

Rao then approached Jeevan Bima Nagar police station and registered a complaint in this connection.
