Bengaluru: Specially abled filmmaker dies in bike accident
Bengaluru: A 32-year-old specially abled Kannada actor and short filmmaker died on the spot after the bike he and his friend were riding hit a road median in Nelamangala traffic police limits on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday night.
The deceased, Hemanth Kumar, was a resident of Machohalli off Magadi Road, while his friend Virendra, who was riding the bike, sustained injuries. The police said that Kumar, who did not have both hands, was riding with Virendra and they were coming to the city from Tumakuru.
As the bike reached Viranjanipura near Nelamangala, Virendra lost control over the bike and crashed into the road median. Kumar fell off the bike, sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. The passerby rushed Virendra to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Kumar has directed and acted in a few Kannada short films. A case has been registered at the Nelamangala traffic police station.
