Spurned lover slits girl's throat in broad daylight publicly

He called her outside, caught her and slit her throat.

Karimnagar: A stalker slit his former girlfriend’s throat in broad daylight on Friday, just three weeks after he reportedly wrote a note promising not to harass her. Their families reportedly broke up their relationship because they belonged to different castes.

The incident occurred in front of the Karimnagar collectorate. The victim, V. Rasagna, 22, succumbed to her injuries on way to the hospital. She was undergoing training in online services at a Mee Seva Centre in front of the collectorate.

The stalker, S. Vamshidhar, 30, who tried to cut his wrists, was detained by locals and beaten up before he was handed over to the police.

They were both natives of Godavarikhani in Peddapalli district.

Sources said they were in a relationship for three years.

Because they belonged to different castes, their families told them to separate amicably.

Rasagna’s family members showed the media a letter allegedly written by Vamshidhar in which he purportedly stated that they were in love for the last three years.

They had developed differences around six months ago, and he had promised in the letter that he would not harass her and would delete her photographs from his mobile phone.

He wrote in the latter dated May 28 that he was ready to face any punishment if he was caught misbehaving with Rasagna or her family. The letter was reportedly written by Vamshidhar in front of the community elders and family members.

According to a Mee Seva centre owner Raju, Rasagna was training for two months and has been staying at a private hostel.

Vamshidhar came to the centre at about 10.30 am and Rasagna took permission to meet him outside. When she emerged from the centre, Vamshidhar caught hold of her and slit her throat while she was struggled to escape.

She fell and was lying in a pool of blood. The staff at the Mee Seva centre and bystanders apprehended Vamshidhar who was trying to slit his wrist.

He was shifted to the I-Town police station and later to Konaraopet police station.

Karimnagar police commissioner V.B. Kamalasan Reddy visited the scene of offence and conducted an inquired about the incident.

Rasagna’s family members staged a protest in front of the government hospital, where her body was taken, demanding that the police kill Vamshidhar in an encounter to do justice to the victim.
