Bengaluru: Three youths were assaulted and their woman friend, who had accompanied them to have a cup of tea, was allegedly molested by two men, when the former questioned the duo for passing lewd comments at the woman.
The alleged incident took place on late on last Saturday night at a restaurant near Kundalahalli Gate signal. The police have taken up a case and are on the lookout for the accused.
Police sources said that four people - Haseena (name changed), a 25-year-old employee of an IT firm, Vishnu, Sandeep and Praneeth had gone to a restaurant to have tea at around 11.15 pm.
While they were having tea, two men, came on a bike to the hotel. Standing at a distance, the accused duo allegedly passed lewd comments at the woman.
When her friends questioned them for their behavior, they allegedly assaulted the trio. Further, they twisted both the hands of the woman and allegedly touched her inappropriately.
“The woman has filed a complaint in this connection and she has alleged that after misbehaving with her, the miscreants left and again returned in an auto within a few minutes. There were allegedly 7-8 men and they attacked her friends. A few hours later, the woman approached the police and filed a complaint. She has provided details of the accused and we are making efforts to nab them,” an official said. “The complainant woman and her three friends, who were assaulted, work for an IT firm. Going by her description, the accused looked like employees of some company. We are verifying the allegations and it looks like there was an altercation between the two groups over something and it led to the fight,” the official claimed.
