Victim was on his way home when he saw a group of men involved in a drunken brawl.
Chennai: The St Thomas Mount police arrested three men who attacked a police officer and injured him on Tuesday night. Police said Ganeshan( 28), an armed reserve constable attached to the St Thomas Mount police station, was returning home after duty when he found men involving in a drunken brawl.
When he asked them to go home, Dasarathan(23), Thangabalu(26) and Meiazhagan(25) allegedly attacked him and pelted stones at him before leaving the spot. Ganeshan was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he is being treated. Based on his complaint, the St Thomas Mount police on Wednesday held three men. A city court later sent them to jail.
