Medak: Man held for cheating jobless youth

The police seized Rs 3.8 lakh, fake identity cards, appointment letters and a mobile phone from the possession of the accused.

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force (West) on Tuesday nabbed one person who duped job aspirants on the pretext of providing Group II jobs in government sector. The police seized Rs 3.8 lakh, fake identity cards, appointment letters and a mobile phone from the possession of the accused.

The accused Galla Prakash Varma alias Prakash, is a resident of Suchitra and native of Medak district. “The man contacted government job aspirants and told that he would arrange Group II jobs for them in MRO offices in the state through his contacts. He prepared a fake identity card of a junior assistant working in the RDO office in Koti. He collected between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh from the victims and issued fake appointment letters,” said DCP Task Force, P. Radha Kishan Rao.

Two cases were booked and the accused along with the seized property was handed over to the Punjagutta police for further investigation.
