Three held for picking pockets
Hyderabad: Three persons were arrested by Chilkalguda police for pickpocketing. Officials recovered Rs 30,000 and a bike from their possession. The arrested accused were identified as Syed Imran, 26, Syed Ibrahim, 22, and Syed Nizam, 23. According to police, the trio are the auto drivers and residents of Hafez Baba Nagar and surrounding areas of Old City of Hyderabad. “Imran was first arrested in 2010 by Santoshnagar Police in a case of theft. Later, he committed 22 offences in Rajendernagar, Chaitanyapuri, Madhapur of Cyberabad and Afzalgunj, Santoshnagar and Chikkadpally Police Stations of Hyderabad City including a case of murder under Kanchanbagh police station limits. Nizam is also a notorious criminal first arrested in 2015 by Afzalgunj Police Station. He has committed nine property offences in Chikkadpally and Afzalgunj Police Stations of Hyderabad City while Nizam is a new offender and arrested for the first time” said B. Sumathi, Deputy Commissioner, North Zone.
“The accused persons used to commit theft of cash from the passengers travelling in their autos” added the Deputy Commissioner.
On Monday, on credible information, the accused persons were apprehended at Chilkalguda X Roads while they were moving under suspicious circumstances in their auto and on meticulous interrogation they confessed to have committed the offences. The stolen property including the vehicle used for the commission of offence has been recovered and seized they are being produced in the Honourable Court for judicial remand.
