Hyderabad: Three held for murder
Hyderabad: Two days after a man was killed after his second marriage by his brother-in-law, Hayathnagar police arrested three people involved in the murder.
Those arrested have been identified as Barthala Yadagiri, 29; Pandi Rakesh alias Chinna, 23; and Kotharavula Bheer-aiah alias Bheerapa, 36. The police said the man was killed within hours of his second marriage.
LB Nagar Zone DCP M. Venkateshwar Rao said, “Yadaiah was the brother-in-law of B. Yadagiri. He married his sister, one Jyothi, and the couple was blessed with four children, three girls and one boy. Jyothi committed suicide in 2011 due to harassment by in-laws and a case was registered at Hayathnagar police station against them. At the time of her death, Yadaiah’s parents assured that they would register a plot of land in favour of the children but they did not. Moreover, Yadaiah was planning to get married again. On learning this, the accused warned him that he should not get married until the land registration was done.”
The victim ignored the warning and married Bhoodevi, a resident of Raipole village, on Friday. This was done without settling land in the children’s name, which angered the accused.
Yadagiri went to Yadaiah’s house with Rakesh. He threatened Bhoodevi’s brother, Rachuri Lingam, and asked him to take the girl back to her parental home. Rakesh reportedly left, but Yadagiri went into Yadaiah’s house and picked up a quarrel with the family. He stabbed him with a knife and one Srisailam, who tried to stop the attack, also received injuries. After the attack, the accused fled the scene with the help of Bheerapa. The police nabbed the accused from Bonglur gate following a tip-off. They were taken for questioning and admitted their guilt.
