Hyderabad: Police arrested an official of AP CID on Sunday for allegedly threatening the residents of an apartment complex. Police said that DSP Vasanth Kumar threatened the residents when they asked him to pay the maintenance charges of his flat.
Police said that DSP G. Vasanth Kumar was staying at a flat in Poorna Aditya Apartments located opposite the Chandana Brothers Mall in Chikkadpally. Vasanth was using two flats located on the fourth and fifth floors of the apartment complex and was also president of the Apartment Welfare Association.
The residents alleged that he was not taking care of apartment maintenance and was not paying the maintenance charges of his flats since months. When the apartment association approached him regarding this, he threatened to assault them. Based on a complaint from apartment residents, a case of criminal intimidation, threat to use criminal force and trespass was registered.
“After a thorough investigation and checking facts he was arrested. He will be produced in court,” Central Zone DCP V.B. Kamalasan Reddy said.
