BENGALURU: Two rival rowdy gangs created panic among the residents of Modi Garden in DJ Halli when they vandalised shops and vehicles parked on the road on Saturday night.
The incident took place at around 10 pm when a gang of 10 men, who came on four two wheelers armed with lethal weapons, created havoc by smashing the window panes of cars and auto rickshaw parked on the roadside.
They even attacked some of the residents with weapons for questioning them. About five residents were injured and are currently being treated. The gang damaged more than 10 vehicles in the area.
The residents allege two local rowdy gangs fought on the street and the whole incident was recorded in the CCTV cameras installed in the area. The residents also alleged they have complained to the local police many times, but no action has been taken.
The DJ Halli police have registered a case and are examining the CCTV footage. They also detained few suspects and are questioning them to know the exact reason behind the attack.
