Hyderabad: Idol-maker arrested for peddling Ganja

Hyderabad: The Commissioner's Task Force, West Zone, on Friday arrested a man for smuggling ganja and seized 11.5 kilograms of contraband his possession. The accused, 32-year-old Tuljaram Singh, is a resident of Upper Dhoolpet and his main occupation is making Ganeshs idols.

Tuljaram Singh confessed to police that his earnings from making and selling Ganesha Idols was not sufficient to feed his family and hence, he entered into peddling the contraband. He started purchasing ganja from Paderu Agency area of Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh and selling it in the city.

Deputy commissioner P. Radha Kishan Rao said, "On Friday, while he was trying to sell ganja to customers at his house, West Zone Task Force apprehended him and seized the contraband."

Tuljaram Singh was booked under NDPS Act-1985, and along with the contraband seized,  he was handed over to Mangalhat police for further investigation.
