Visakhapatnam: Student on his way to SSC exam killed in accident

The deceased was identified as Killadi Srinivas Rao, 15, a resident of G. Singaram area of Kasimkota mandal.

Visakhapatnam: A Class X student and pillion rider on his way to appear for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination, which commenced on March 15, was killed in a road accident on NH-16 stretch near Tallapalem area under Kasimkota police station limits in Vizag district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Killadi Srinivas Rao, 15, a resident of G. Singaram area of Kasimkota mandal.

The accident occurred when Srinivas and his distant relative P. Veeraju (rider) were proceeding on a bike towards the examination centre at Tallapalem.
According to sub-inspector P. Madhusudhan Rao said that Veeraju lost control over the bike due to over-speeding and hit a road-divider and both of fell down on the road. Srinivas died on the spot due to severe head injuries while Veeraju suffered injuries.

However, the locals alleged that the bike was hit by a speeding car and the cops failed to intercept the car. The boy’s father K. Kantha Rao and few others claimed that it was a case of hit-and-run. Dismissing the allegations, the police have registered a case against the bike rider P. Veeraju under Section 304 A of IPC (causing death due to negligence) and the investigation is on. Police shifted the body to NTR Hospital in Anakapalle for post-mortem.
