Bengaluru: Two killed in road accidents
BENGALURU: A 25-year-old drama teacher died after he rammed his two-wheeler into a stationary lorry near Anjinpura double road in K.S. Layout traffic police limits early Tuesday.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Rakshith, a resident of Mallasandra near Thalghattapura. He was teaching drama to students from various institutions. Around 12.10 am while he was returning home after visiting his friend in Anjinapura when he failed to notice a stationary lorry parked and hit the rear portion.
Due to the collision he suffered severe head injuries. Passersby informed the police and shifted him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The police, who visited the spot, seized the lorry. It seems Rakshith was not wearing the helmet as it was not damaged. The driver of the lorry, who is currently absconding, had not put on the parking lights.
Hit and run
In a case of hit and run, a 30-year-old private company employee was killed after an unidentified vehicle mowed him down near Narayana Hrudyalaya hospital in Hebbagodi police station limits on Tuesday.
The police said the accident happened when Akshay Kamath, a resident of Chandapura and a native of Mangaluru, was on his way home around 7.45 am.
A speeding vehicle mowed him down and Kamath suffered serious injuries.
