Hyderabad: Chain-snatcher Ali gets 7 years jail, Rs 10,000 fine
Ali, 32, hailing from Bidar, was arrested by Punjagutta police in 2015, in connection with a chain-snatching incident.
Hyderabad: Notorious chain-snatcher Baqar Akram Ali, who was involved in around 100 chain-snatching cases, was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 by a court here on Tuesday. Ali is now in detention under the PD Act.
Ali, 32, hailing from Bidar, was arrested by Punjagutta police in 2015, in connection with a chain-snatching incident. He was detained under the PD Act in August 2015. Ali was involved in 102 chain-snatching cases in Hyderabad and Cyberabad.
On Tuesday, after hearing arguments and examining witnesses, the XIV additional chief metropolitan magistrate, sentenced him to seven years simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000.
