Fake certificate racket busted; 11 held

Certificates were sold in the name of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan University in Bhopal, Swami Vivekananda University and Glocal University

HYDERABAD: The North Zone Task Force teams raided two consultancies which were selling fake educational certificates and arrested persons involved in the racket.

In the first case, the North Zone team, along with the Asif Nagar police, raided an education consultancy called ‘Pride Education Academy’ at pillar number 22 in Mehdipatnam. “The officials arrested two people, Gunti Maheshwar Rao, 45, and Ketan Singh, 34, for selling fake educational certificates in the name of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan University (SRKU) in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Swami Vivekananda University (SVN) in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, and Glocal University in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Apart from fake educational certificates, a computer system, four fake rubber stamps, one cell phone, and a student register were also seized from them,” the police said.

In the second case, the Task Force teams, along with the Malakpet police, raided ‘Sree Sai Educational Consultancy’ at Malakpet and arrested nine accused. “The gang was involved in acquiring fake certificates from various institutions. During the raid, the task force seized educational certificates, rubber stamps of various colleges and government offices, a cell phone, a computer, a laptop, and cell phones. Students were willingly purchasing fake certificates without attending exams for further higher studies abroad and job purposes,” added the police.
