UK techie abandons wife in Telangana

Victim lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad CCS police.

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old woman from Warangal has approached the police alleging that her husband, a software engineer working in the UK, left her after marriage.

She also complained that she was harassed by her in-laws who evicted her from the house.

When she did not get justice from the Warangal police, she lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad CCS police.

Ms S. Prashanthi from Warangal had married Mr S. Sravan from LB Nagar, Hyderabad, in August 2015 after Sravan had seen her profile on the “World Netha” matrimonial site.

Though they married without family consent, they went to Mr Sravan’s house after marriage and were well received. But three days after the marriage, Mr Sravan flew to the UK without informing her.

“Immediately after he left, my in-laws, his sisters, brother and their spouses started harassing me physically and mentally. They drove me out of the house and said that I had no connection with their family,” said Ms Prashanthi in her complaint.

She said that her husband had stopped calling her and her in-laws would not let her into the house.

She lodged a complaint with the Warangal police who contacted Mr Sravan.

He told the cops that he would come back and settle the issue. But he kept postponing his return.

“In spite of registering a case against them, there was no response from them,” added Ms Prashanthi.
