Hyderabad: Bus driver absconding for 5 years held
Hyderabad: The implementation of model code of conduct before the assembly elections in the state, has helped the Crime Investigation Department nab the prime accused, the driver of the bus that met with a road accident at Palem in Mahbubnagar, who was absconding for the last five years.
The bus (AP02 TA 0963) carrying 51 persons met with an accident and caught fire near Palem on October 30, 2013. The Volvo bus belonging to Jabbar Travels, caught fire and 44 passengers were charred to death, while seven including bus driver Feroz Pasha escaped with minor injuries.
Feroz, who has been absconding ever since the incident, was traced to Mangalore by the CID officials, who were searching for 15 accused persons in various cases, having non-bailable warrants issued against them by various courts.
A team which visited several places in Karnataka in search of Feroz has also been Mangalore, where they found that Feroz was living under Dakshin Kannada district. The police rushed to the village, checked his fingerprints, and he was nabbed. Sources said, “Feroz was arrested and produced in a court at Mahbubnagar, where a chargesheet was filed.”
