Hyderabad: Notorious bike lifter nabbed
Hyderabad: A notorious bike-lifter and his associate were arrested by the Market police on Tuesday who used to steal parked bikes to sell them for a cheaper price. The arrested were identified as Alumalla Vijender Reddy alias Raju, medical salesman and resident of Siddipet, and Younus Mohinuddin, an auto consultant.
The arrests were made following a complaint received last month from K. Srinivas, a medical representative, stating that when he went to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad, he parked his bike in the parking lot. “However, when he came back around 6.30 pm, it was missing,” said the police.
On Monday, the Market police apprehended Vijender Reddy at Yashoda Hospital who was moving in a suspicious manner. “During interrogation, Vijender confessed to having committed 10 motorcycle thefts and sold the bikes with the help of Younus Mohin-uddin.
Vijender Reddy was arrested by the Karimnagar police in September 2016 and 15 bikes were recovered from him,” said B. Sumathi DCP, North Zone. The duo were sent to judicial remand.
