Hyderabad Central Crime Station police arrests 3 in land forgery case

Saxena's petition was dismissed by the High Court for creating fictitious names to file a petition.

Hyderabad: In order to prove to the court that the writ petitions he filed were real, an advocate created fake identification cards for three people hailing from Karnataka, to impersonate the characters he created while filing the petition, said the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) police on Sunday. The police arrested three people including two impersonators and are searching for the absconding persons.

On July 30, advocate Sailesh Saxena was arrested by the CCS police in a case of cheating, forgery and attempting to grab 73 acre of land at Bhojagutta worth Rs 300 crore by producing fake documents in the court and he was later given bail.

“Saxena’s petition was dismissed by the High Court for creating fictitious names to file a petition. In order to prove the court that he was right, Saxena with the help of his friend managed to arrange three impersonators on whose names he created fake voter identification cards and Aadhaar cards,” said detective department DCP Avinash Mohanty.

The DCP said that Saxena got three persons Amzad Khan, Mohammed Patel, and Gafoor from Bidar in Karnataka. He offered them money for impersonating as the petitioners and appear before the court. Saxena also had filed writ petitions in the court alleging that the police are harassing him and kidnapped the petitioners. He also said that there was no response from the police despite the court’s directions to register a case in connection with a writ petition, said the DCP.

He created voter identification cards on their names as Habeeb Islam Khan, Ifthekar Islam Khan and Nazimuddin Islam Khan. He then went to a Mee-Seva centre at Bidar and got their names changed on their Aadhaar cards. Acting on a tip off, the investigating team nabbed Amzad and Mohammed, while Gafoor is absconding.

Explaining about the background of the case, the DCP said, “On July 4, 2017, the High Court dismissed the writ petitions filed by Saxena as the petitioners did not exist and a case was registered against him (Crime no 125/2017), based on a complaint from the Registrar (Judiciary) of the High Court of Judicature, Hyderabad.

Saxena was subsequently arrested and remanded to judicial custody. After his release, he decided to deflect the probe and filed false complaints against the investigators.”

“Saxena met Md Abdul Ghani at another advocate’s office in Kacheguda and offered huge commission for arranging impersonators. After sufficient evidence, the impersonators and those helped them have been arrested,” said DCP.
