Five held in gangster Nayeem case in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested five more people from Mahbubnagar in connection with the Nayeem case. They were close aides of Nayeem involved in kidnap, murder and extortions. The SIT also detained a sub-registrar of Nalgonda in another case.
Senior officials revealed the police has so far booked 99 cases and has arrested 83 persons in connection with the Nayeem case. A total of 372 people have approached the police with complaints about the Nayeem gang.
The suspects arrested from Mahbubnagar are Vavilla Sanjeev Kumar, 34, and Gunduru Srinu, 43, from Veldanda mandal, Koppu Sandeep, 21, Revalli Chakali Krishna, 26, and Keshamolla Ramesh, 30, from Veldanda mandal, police said. They assisted Nayeem to commit murders and extort money from many people.
“We have arrested 83 persons in 99 cases. The SIT has received 372 calls regarding crimes by the Nayeem gang. Most victims are from Bhongir area. The gangster has many associates and relatives in Bhongir,” said a senior SIT official.
“Cases are being registered as per complaints. All cases are under investigation and efforts are on to arrest the remaining associates of Nayeem,” the officer added.
