Hyderabad Fights Drugs; Awareness Drive & Ganja Seizure

Hyderabad: South zone DCP P. Sai Chaitanya on Tuesday organised an awareness programme against narcotic drugs near the historic Charminar monument, urging citizens to actively combat addiction. Speaking at the event, he emphasising the importance of community involvement in curbing drug-related activities.

Local residents, community leaders, and law enforcement personnel participated in the event. The programme included informative sessions, speeches, and interactive activities designed to sensitise attendees about the detrimental effects of drugs on individuals, families, and the community at large.

6 Arrested, 6 Kg Ganja Seized in Maheshwaram; Car Smuggling Operation Busted

Hyderabad: The Maheshwaram special operation team arrested six persons and seized 6 kg of ganja and other property from their possession. The gang was smuggling the contraband in an car from Araku in Visakhapatnam. Police intercepted the vehicle at Sitarampuram, Hayathnagar, and found the drugs upon searching the vehicle early on Tuesday. The prime accused, identified as Rohit Pres alias Lucky of Paderu of AP is absconding.

Search Intensifies for Missing 15-Year-Old Student; Mental Health Concerns Raised

Hyderabad: A 15-year-old Class IX student went missing from her house Tilaknagar at about 4 pm on August 13, Kacheguda police said. Her father told the police that she had been facing mental health issues for 10 days due to which she was unable to go to school.

Police have formed separate teams and are inquiring with her friends and relatives. Another team is going through the CCTV footage from August 13 morning. Police suspect she might have gone the house of a friend or a relative, K.L.R. Raju of the Kacheguda police said.

Police have circulated her description along with her photograph clad in a yellow top and black legging to other police stations in twin cities.

Hit-and-Run Claims Two Lives on Shamshabad Highway; Victims Identified

Hyderabad: Two two-wheeler riders were killed on the spot after their vehicle was hit by an unidentified vehicle which drove away after the accident on Shamshabad highway early on Tuesday.

Police the victims P. Shiva Kumar, 29, and H. Sudheer, 28, had started on Monday from the former’s house in Kondapalli to attend a party at the house of their friend J. Prasad in Shamshabad. They left the venue at 1.40 am and were returning home when the accident occurred

Shiva was a labourer from Tondupally, Sudheer had come to meet him from Narayankhed. Police are trying to identify the hit-and-run vehicle via CCTV footage.

Body with Stab Injuries Found in Mallapur; Investigation Underway

Hyderabad: The body of 30-year-old Nandalal Prajapathi was found with stab injuries at an isolated place in Mallapur, Nacharam police said on Tuesday. Prajapathi, a resident of Green Hills Colony, Mallapur, was a Bihar native. Police have taken two persons into custody for questioning. Clues team and sniffer dogs were pressed into action.

Arrests Made in Missing Man's Murder; Accused Admit Stabbing, Burning Body

Hyderabad: Police arrested four persons on Tuesday for the murder of a 23-year-old man, Mohammed Imran of Saroonagar, who was reported missing on August 5. The accused said that they had stabbed Imran to death, burnt his body and disposed of the remains in the Musi river.

Before leaving home for the last time, Imran told his family that he would be meeting his friends Sonu Singh alias Sonu and K. Lakshman to settle a financial dispute. When he did not return, his parents lodged a complaint with the Saroornagar police.

The police on August 8 nabbed Imran’s friend R. Shyam Sunder, who revealed that he and five of his friends had called to Imran to the Musi river bed near Chaitanyapuri. When he reached spot, they argued with him and finally murdered him.

Police said Sonu Singh had borrowed Imran’s new two-wheeler and damaged it in an accident. Imran demanded that Singh get the bike repaired or give him money.

Police were unable to trace Imran’s remains. They arrested Shyam Sunder, S. Shekhar, V. Arun Kumar and M. Rahul, part of the gang that allegedly attacked Imran. Sonu Singh and Lakshman absconding.
