​Bengaluru: Businessman held for sexually assaulting 16-year-old girl

Venkatesh has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested him.

Bengaluru: A 25-year-old meat merchant has been arrested by the Bagalagunte police for sexually harassing a minor girl. The accused, Venkatesh, a resident of Siddehalli in Nagasandra, befriended the 16-year-old girl, who was staying in his neighbourhood.

On August 10, when the girl’s parents who are daily wage workers went to work, Venkatesh allegedly went to the girl’s house around 3 pm and convinced her to go with him to his house. After taking her home, Venkatesh allegedly sexually harassed the girl by confining her to a room and later released her.

The girl returned home and narrated the ordeal to her parents. They immediately approached the Bagalagunte police. Venkatesh has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested him.
