Visakhapatnam: A woman and her daughter of a three-member family, died on spot as the bike on which they were travelling plunged into an agricultural well near Pedagogada village, Cheedikada mandal in Visakhapatnam district on Monday. The victims were identified as Kakara Ramalakshmi, 26, and Kakara Devi, 6. Ramalakshmi's husband Kakara Nooka Raju who was riding the bike was rescued by the locals.
Cheedikada police said that the incident took place when the trio was travelling from Arjunagiri to Chinagogada on Monday morning. Nooka Raju reportedly lost control over the bike. Nooka Raju is a small farmer and married Ramalakshmi around 10 years ago, while Devi was a Class-II student in a school. Ramalakshmi along with her daughter had gone to her parents' house at Arjunagiri on Saturday.
However, Ramalakshmi's parents alleged that Nooka Raju killed their daughter and granddaughter over family disputes. Sub-inspector M. Sirish Kumar said that post mortem report would ascertain the exact cause of deaths. "Preliminary investigation has revealed that it was a case of road accident. On receiving a written complaint, we plan to book a case against the owner of the agriculture well for not covering it,” Mr Kumar said.
