Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police foiled a Rs 12-lakh murder supari (deal) put out by one N. Vasudeva Reddy against his son-in-law Shamsunder Red-dy, a petrol bunk owner. Police suspects the role of Shamsunder Reddy’s estran-ged wife behind the supari.

Police has reportedly picked up Vasudeva Reddy, Chardri Kondal Reddy, Mohammed Mazhar Khan, Mohammed Ashraf, Moham-med Amjad, Mohammed Naveed, Abdul Khadar and Syed Vaseem.  Police is yet to announce the arrests.

Police said Mr Shyamsunder Reddy, who owns more than 10 petrol filling stations in the city, and his wife Sirisha, separated three years ago and filed for div-orce in the Miyapur court.

Their children stay with Ms Sirisha, and he was paying maintenance. The case related to divorce and assets was under trial in Miyapur court.

Ms Sirisha’s father Vasu-deva Reddy hatched a plan to kill Mr Shyamsunder Reddy and took the help of his distant relative Kondal Reddy. They hired other persons and offered them Rs 12 lakh to kill Mr Shyamsunder Reddy. “They even paid Rs 2 lakh as advance to the gang,” an official said. Police found that the gang had conducted recce three times in the past.
