Hyderabad: Reportedly depressed over not being able to conceive, a woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Miyapur. Police registered a case of suspicious death for the probe and handed over the body to her family members on Friday.

According to the Miyapur police, the victim identified as Anuyla was a native of Kurnool district and was married to one Ramalingeshwar Rao since 2012. Since then they were living at Gopalraonagar in Miyapur.

Amulya had some health issues for which she underwent treatment at various hospitals but could not conceive and this caused her to become depressed, said the police.

At around 11 pm on June 12, Amulya attempted suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her house. Her husband and in-laws noticed it and immediately admitted her at Anupama Hospital in Kukatpally, where she succumbed on Thursday night.

Based on a complaint from her grandmother M. Venkata Laxmi, a case was registered under suspicious death for the probe and the body was handed to the family after autopsy at the Gandhi Hospital.
