The police has installed boards warning people not to smoke on the Charminar premises. Earlier, four others were also penalised for smoking in public spaces.
The officials have started taking action against people who are found smoking cigarettes and beedis in public places under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act 2003.
