Hyderabad: Woman booked for sexual abuse
Hyderabad: An elderly woman working as a helper at an international pre-school in the city has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act by the Cyberabad police. The woman allegedly sexually abused a three-and-half-year-old child on the school premises said the police.
The victim is the daughter of a techie couple. They had admitted the child to the pre-school as they had to go to work. The pre-school is located in the Madhapur police station limits
About four days ago, the girl complained to her mother about misbehaviour and sexual abuse by a woman helper, who is aged over 50 years, in the washroom of the school, the police said quoting from the complaint.
Based on the complaint lodged by the child’s mother, the Madhapur police registered a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against the woman and took up investigations.
Confirming that the case was registered, a senior police official from the Cyberabad police commissionerate said: “A complaint has been received from the mother of the child about sexual abuse. The girl also stated the same during inquiry. The child was immediately sent for medical examination. She is yet to receive counselling.”
After the medical examination, the officials found that though no attempt at sexual assault was made against the child, she was subjected to physical abuse.
A sharp object, like a stone, was inserted to the private parts of the girl child, due to which she suffered bleeding.
