A man's chopped body parts were found a few weeks back in north Delhi's Timarpur area.

New Delhi: The main accused in the murder case of a man, whose chopped body parts were found a few weeks back in north Delhi's Timarpur area has been arrested, police said.

One of the accused, Pawan, was arrested in the first week of this month. The second one, Happy, who was absconding, was arrested on Friday from Nalanda in Bihar, a senior police officer said.

After the murder, Happy had left Delhi along with his girlfriend. Police questioned his friends and found out about his girlfriend.

During the probe it was found that she had five mobile numbers four of which has been procured through fake IDs and addresses, the officer said.

However, they found one of the addresses to be in Nalanda, which turned out to be that of Happy's girlfriend, he said.

In Nalanda, it was learnt that the accused and her girlfriend were hiding at a friend's place. A raid was conducted there and Happy was arrested, the officer said.

Happy and Pawan had allegedly killed Nitin last month as they held him responsible for the deaths of their brothers, who had drowned in Yaumna river at Shyam Ghat in Burari in 2015.

But, Nitin was given a clean chit in that case, he said. Happy had allegedly spiked Nitin's drink with sleeping pills. When he became dizzy, Happy slit his throat and stuffed the body inside bed box.

The body parts were found scattered in three different places in Timarpur, police said.
